Upon landing in the Tenzing-Hillary Airstrip, you will meet your porter and begin a gentle 3-4 hour journey. Your journey takes you along the Dudh Koshi River and across several Sherpa villages toward the tranquil village of Phakding for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Today’s trek takes you to the commercial hub of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. To get to your overnight destination, you will follow the Dudh Koshi River and cross several iconic suspension bridges, including the Hillary Suspension Bridge. From here, you will take on an ascent toward Monjo, the official entry point to the Sagarmatha National Park. Your ascent continues across pine and rhododendron forests, with a first distant view of Mount Everest before reaching Namche.

Day 5

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Today is a crucial day. To allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude and significantly reduce the risks of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), you will spend a day acclimatizing. As a part of the strategic acclimatization process, you will follow the “walk high, sleep low” principle.

Today, you can hike to the Everest View Hotel, a higher altitude region near Namche Bazaar offering panoramic vistas of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Alternatively, you can also visit the traditional village of Khumjung and its ancient monasteries.

Day 6

Trek from Namche to Tengboche

From Namche, you will trek to the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region. The trek to Tengboche offers stunning views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Your journey further continues along the Dudh Koshi River before ascending through lush forests.

As you depart Tengboche, you will descend through lush rhododendron forests into the picturesque village of Dingboche. The journey takes you across Imja Khola before beginning a steady ascent toward Pangboche. As you continue the uphill trek toward your overnight destination, you will notice the tree line receding. The lush vegetation is gradually replaced by alpine meadows.

After a 5-6 hour trek, you will reach Dingboche. You can enjoy spectacular views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak from your teahouse/lodge.

Day 8

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Today is your second acclimatization day. As you gain elevation, it is crucial to allow your body to adjust to the thin atmosphere and high-altitude conditions. To further aid in this process, you will go on a rewarding hike to Nagarjun Hill at an altitude of 5,100 meters. The hike is challenging, but it rewards you with a sweeping Himalayan skyline of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the Imja valley.

Upon returning to Dingboche, you can spend some time exploring the walled city of Dingboche. However, we recommend resting and preparing for the higher elevation journey that lies ahead.

Day 9

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

The trek from Dingboche to Lobuche presents you with gradual ascents through the vast Dughla Valley. During route to Lobuche, you will pass the stone memorial dedicated to climbers who perished on Everest. As you move forward, you will find the landscape turning even more stark and rugged. Continue the journey to your overnight destination of Lobuche, enjoying the captivating views of Pumori and Nuptse.

After spending some time here, you will take on a challenging descent toward Lobuche.

Day 12

Lobuche to Lobuche High Camp Trek

You begin your journey toward the technical climbing phase from today. The day begins in Lobuch with a hearty breakfast. Leaving Lobuche Village behind, you will trail along the alpine moraine and rugged terrain toward Lobuche High Camp. Situated at 5,400 meters, the trek to your overnight destination requires challenging uphill ascents. You will reach Lobuche High Camp after a 3-4 hour trek. Upon reaching the high camp, you can have lunch and engage in essential climbing techniques as you prepare for the Lobuche Peak summit push tomorrow.

Though difficult, you will be rewarded with an immense sense of accomplishment upon reaching the peak. You will also find panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho oyu and Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks.

Why is Insurance Essential?

High-altitude trekking and climbing involve inherent risks such as falls, altitude sickness, sudden weather changes, or medical emergencies in remote locations. Comprehensive travel and trekking insurance protects you financially and ensures access to critical services like medical treatment, evacuation, and helicopter rescue if needed. It is highly recommended that the insurance covers both high-altitude trekking and mountaineering activities, as standard travel insurance may not cover these specific risks. Having insurance provides peace of mind, allowing you to focus on the adventure without worrying about unexpected emergencies.

What Safety Measures and Rescue Options Are Available?

Every trek and climb is guided by highly experienced local guides and trained support staff who are certified in high-altitude safety, first aid, and rescue procedures. How are rescues handled if emergencies occur? In case of accidents, illness, or altitude-related problems, the team can provide immediate on-site assistance, administer first aid, and arrange evacuation or helicopter rescue to the nearest medical facility if required. These measures ensure that participants are never alone in challenging situations, making the expedition safer while navigating rugged terrain and extreme conditions.

Who Should Train and How Should You Prepare?

Anyone planning to participate, especially climbers attempting the summit of Lobuche Peak. What preparation is required? Physical fitness is crucial, including stamina for long hiking days, leg strength for steep trails, and cardiovascular endurance for high-altitude conditions. Prior trekking experience above 4,000 meters is strongly recommended, and climbers should also familiarize themselves with basic mountaineering skills such as using crampons, ice axes, and rope techniques for snow and ice sections. When should preparation start? Ideally, several months before departure, to allow your body to adapt gradually and reduce the risk of altitude sickness, while also gaining confidence in handling challenging conditions on the trek and climb.
